Dave MacLeod is one of the most, if not the most, talented climber in the world. Specialised in traditional climbing, he successfully climbed Rhapsody, Dumbarton Rock, which was consider as the hardest traditional climbing route in the world at the time.
But to become the hero he is now, there is no secret. Taking risks and keep trying.
On that day at Whale Rock, Glen Nevis, he is demonstrating to his student/champion Natalie Berry how to use skyhooks. But the rock is immaculate, with just a few tiny crimps and the rain is coming. Too many factors that should have stopped him, but he went for it. And that’s when accidents happen. But it’s also when limits are reached that humans move on. And it’s not a surgery that will stop Dave from training for more!
