Rino Herman: an inspiration to aspiring skaters

As a young boy growing up in a small rural village in Padang, Indonesia, Rino Herman’s only dream was to become a professional skater. Leaving everyone and everything he knew behind, Rino ventured to the big city of Jakarta to pursue his ambition. With nothing except his passion, Rino’s journey to where he is now is nothing short of inspirational. Check out a snippet of his story here:

Now a member of the Indonesia Volcom team, Rino is one of the top three skaters in Indonesia – along with Indra ‘Kubon’ Leonardo and Mario Palandeng. All three are featured in the Volcom skate documentary, ‘POL: Part of Life’, which journeys into the different struggles and pains the trio endured to become leaders of their sport. From being homeless to being broken physically and emotionally, these stories are a powerful portrayal of what it means to pursue your dreams. This is a film about courage, sacrifice, dedication and the human spirit.
