A couple of New Zealand surfers have had the experience of a lifetime in recently when a pair of Whales cruised just metres past them whilst surfing off the coast of the Dunedin coast. Sam Todd and friend Craig Latta, have been criticised by the Department of Conservation for violating whale-watching guidelines to stay at least 50 metres away from Whales.

Drone footage has surfaced of the surfers interaction with the Whales online – you can see the vision above.

“Not many people in the world get a chance to have an experience like this one, and for it to happen in old Dunedin, it’s pretty special.” Said Todd.
