Corona Director’s Diary: Shane Dorian

Welcome back to Director’s Diary, a Garage x Corona video series.

Over the last two decades, Taylor Steele’s films have evolved from low-fi, surf porn chopped to nostalgic punk rock tunes in Momentum 1 & 2, Focus & Good Times to classic skits, scripts and progressive surfing featured in The Show, Loose Change & Campaign 1 & 2. Taylor went on to produce some of the best travel and surf features of our time with the Sipping Jetstreams series (Sipping Jetstreams, Castles In The Sky & Missing). Now, the godfather of surf filmmaking is at it again with his biggest feature film yet, Proximity

“This unique creative union with TGR and Garage came from our desire to do something in surfing that hasn’t been done before. Utilising the latest technology, traveling to the far corners of the globe with my favourite surfers, and presenting in film, photos, virtual reality, and print media. Proximity is pretty much my dream project.” – said Taylor

In this episode of Director’s Diary, we take a retrospective look at the career defining moments of big wave hellman Shane Dorian featured in Taylor Steele’s films, from the Momentum years up until now. We caught up with Taylor to discuss why Shane was chosen for Proximity in his own words.

Hit play and go back in time with the latest instalment of Director’s Diary presented by Corona.
