Maroubra turns out for ‘KING OF THE BRA’

Last Saturday, on the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day (definitely one of the most emotive days in the Australian calendar), Maroubra Beach also hosted ‘King Of The Bra’, an event designed to crown the best surfer in Maroubra.Screenshot-2015-04-26-10.46The day commenced with an Anzac respect paddle out & surfers’ circle formed for memorial, followed by a traditional welcome to country Aboriginal blessing of Maroubra and the event.Screenshot-2015-04-26-07.49The Sydney suburb, which has produced generations of renowned pro surfing talent (and continues to do so) turned up & represented including the likes of Koby Abberton, Mark Mathews, Blake Thornton, Richie Vas, Monty Tait, Maxie McGuigan, Paul Moffat, and Jake Scott to name a few.Screenshot-2015-04-26-11.01Birds came to spectate.Screenshot-2015-04-26-10.41And better birds.Screenshot-2015-04-26-10.31Rabbitohs supporters.
